Our Story

Science, and a little Magic

“Home-theatre design is a careful mix of science and art — the finest rooms are those where the most intelligent compromises have been most beautifully applied.”

Starz Designs is a family of passionate home-theatre enthusiasts in Perth, Western Australia. Working to CEDIA-approved design systems, we blend scientific precision with artistic vision — often composing several designs of the very same room, with different equipment and performance objectives, before a single one is chosen.

It is this unhurried process that gives every Starz cinema its predictable, guaranteed character. And above it all: our breathtaking custom star ceilings — full LED RGBW technology set within hand-crafted acoustic panels, bringing the magic of the night sky into your own home.

To Standards, Never Guesswork

Recognised codes of practice govern every cinema we design, so its performance is predictable before a single panel is fitted. Nothing is left to chance, and nothing to taste alone.

Night-Sky Realism

Genuine depth and shimmer — not a flat grid of pin lights. Fibres are placed by hand, in fields worked up over years, so the difference is felt the moment the lights dim.
